2. Nikki Blonsky
Growing up and attending high school in her hometown of Great Neck, N.Y. in the mid-2000s, Nikki Blonsky was just another unknown kid with an unbridled love for acting. But that soon changed in 2007 when she was plucked from an ice-cream shop to star as Tracy Turnblad in the 2007 hit movie, Hairspray alongside Hollywood bigwigs, John Travolta and Zac Efron. Blonsky captured the viewers’ hearts and was instantly thrust into the limelight, but it turned out to be short-lived.
Blonsky found it extremely difficult to land another movie role and found herself where it all started. She briefly had a stint as an attendant in a shoe store before landing another job at a hair salon in her hometown. Despite trying her hand in various Hollywood roles, it is right to say that acting has taken a backseat in her life.
