Just like anyone else you can’t expect celebrities not to engage in arguments with their rivals. The difference is that now, thanks to social media, we can watch them feud in real time around the world. Here are 25 of the pettiest and nastiest social media beef that involved celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, and even The Rock.
1. E.L James vs. The Rest Of The World
The infamous author of the Fifty Shades series, E. L. James, decided to take part in a Q&A conference on Twitter and regretted every moment of it. Critics, including members of the BDSM community, questioned her portrayal of a “BDSM” relationship and accused her of romanticizing abuse. Her Twitter account was flooded with pretty tough questions. Eventually, the Internet emerged as the winner. One question that came up a lot was whether she would she return for another round of Q&A on Twitter. Guys, probably not…
2. The Kardashians vs. Amber Rose
A heated debate on Twitter between Khloé Kardashian and Amber Rose started after Amber publicly disapproved of the rumored relationship between Tyga and Kylie Jenner (17) on “The Breakfast Club.” Khloé responded and tweeted to Amber, a former stripper at 15, that people who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. Amber fought back and said that she had been supporting her family through her profession while Khloé’s elder sister has been doing the same – as a whore – and ended her tweet with a kiss. OoOo! Amber’s one-two punch marked the end of this round of their feud in our opinion.
3. Nicki Minaj vs. Taylor Swift
Both these musical superstars started trading barbs on Twitter after Nicki Minaj failed to receive the nom for best video of the year at the MTV Music Awards. Minaj made a general comment on how “slim girls” always find a way to get nominated and then Taylor Swift jumped down her throat. Swift thought that Minaj was criticizing her for her nomination and their ensuing and very public dispute pulled in other celebrities like Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars. Nicki kept saying that she hadn’t mentioned Taylor Swift and their argument ended in a relatively mature fashion when Taylor apologized on Twitter. Social media can turn a simple mistake into an instant conflict!
4. Calvin Harris vs. Zayn Malik
Zayn Malik and Calvin Harris brought about their fair share of public embarrassment on Twitter when Zayn compared Taylor Swift to Miley Cyrus and appeared to accuse Swift of asking for too much money for her music. Calvin, who was dating Taylor at the time, expressed his anger and tweeted back at Zayn saying that he (Zayn) should stay out and let artists decide how to sell and market their music. Zayn re-tweeted their argument and said that Calvin only made himself a fool of himself and that’s not what he was saying. After a little juvenile name-calling, Calvin apologized to Zayn and brought an end to public tit-for-tat.
5. Britney Spears vs. Iggy Azalea
Australian rapper, Iggy Azalea, started a row with Britney after their duet “Pretty Girls” failed to perform as well as expected. Iggy replied to one of her fan’s tweet and put the blame on Britney for the failed single with some strong language giving vent to her anger. Iggy also canceled their upcoming show! Britney responded to Iggy’s tweet by saying that she (Britney) would have many other shows to keep her busy all through the year and that if Iggy wanted to drop out it wasn’t her (Britney’s) problem! Britney wasn’t going to take any nonsense from Iggy Azalea.
