When it comes to a movie, bagging an Academy Award does not always make it great: some movies just seem to have the inside track or look like “Oscar bait.” That said, we’ve done our best to decide on 25 amazing movies that—from the critics to the award shows to the audience—had an unforgettable impact on the film audience and our viewers. Check out our take on the 25 best movies of all time.
1. The Godfather – Coppola’s Crime Saga
What happens when the leader of a mafia dynasty passes away, leaving his legacy to his young and apprehensive son? Crime, politics, and the trials of leadership are all beautifully captured in this Francis Ford Coppola masterpiece. It’s an adaptation of the novel by Mario Puzo with the same name (he also contributed to the screenplay) brought to life with amazing performances from Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, and Diane Keaton. You’ll never forget how Michael Corleone (Al Pacino) takes the reign of this brutal crime dynasty.
