3. The Evil Dead (1981 – Sam Raimi)
While some call it a shallow twist on ‘Night Of The Living Dead,’ this is a much darker, more daring version of the zombie horror movie. It’s an innovative and fun movie with stunning, realistic visuals. This small production pushed the limits of cinema horror to the extremes we know today. The unnerving, suspense-filled atmosphere the movie has kept its watchers at the edge of their seats since its release in 1981. Several sequels continued the story of the iconic main character, Ash Williams (played by Bruce Campbell).
